What is Tourism Nanaimo?
Tourism Nanaimo is a not-for-profit Destination Marketing and Visitor Services Organization that strives to increase awareness, interest, and visitation to our area. Attracting visitors to Nanaimo and educating residents about the role that tourism plays in the local economy is a major undertaking which involves a joint investment between the tourism industry and the City of Nanaimo.
As a member of Tourism Nanaimo, you are invited to participate in marketing initiatives that benefit your business while also promoting the Nanaimo and Central Vancouver Island region. We work in partnership with the City of Nanaimo Economic Development Office’s Destination Nanaimo team, who is responsible for external (out of town) destination marketing for Nanaimo.

The Tourism Nanaimo Visitor Information Centre is the second busiest Tourism B.C. Visitor Centre on Vancouver Island, servicing over 45,000 visitors a year and responding to over 70,000 direct inquires. Each of these inquiries represents a potential customer for your business. Tourism Nanaimo is a member of many tourism industry organizations, which offer special programs that all of our members can participate in. Organizations we are involved with include: Tourism Association of Vancouver Island, Tourism British Columbia, Tourism Vancouver, Tourism Victoria, Seattle-King County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Canadian Tourist Commission.
