"It's Amazing What You can Do Here..."

Story Starters

Take it to the Trees -

Treego is an aerial obstacle course with over 70 elements. Test your “spidy skills” and crawl up swinging nets, tight rope walk and zip from tree to tree. It doesn't end there, ride the King Swing over the Canyon, Bungee jump from a 70ft bridge or seek delight from watching others get their rush while you relax on the patio at Wild Play Adventure Park. Serious fun for all ages!

Scuba Stop -

Nanaimo has outstanding scuba diving including the world’s largest artificial upright reef made up of a retired Canadian Supply Ship, a 336-foot Navy Destroyer and a Tug boat! Get in, get wet and visit Nanaimo's underwater attractions. The many knowledgeable dive outfitters would love to show you the underwater hot spots found from shore entry or deep water dives.

Dockside Delights -

Visit Canada’s only floating pub, the Dinghy Dock, a short ferry ride away and enjoy the view of Nanaimo's harbour. Plan your entire visit around the waterfront and food. Enjoy fresh meals at Penny’s Palapa and Trollers Fish & Chips, local dockside favorites'. If you’d rather cook it yourself, pick up fresh seafood from Fisherman’s Market Pier or if you aren't in any hurry, catch your own crab with other locals right off the pier.

Brew Tour & Sample -

Take your own pub tour, starting at the Longwood Brew Pub every Saturday at 3:00 PM for a tour and tasting. Work your way South and end up at the Crow & Gate Pub in Cedar with a pint of Guinness to accompany a fabulous home-made English style pub dinner.

Eagles, Bears and Beyond -

North island Wildlife Recovery Centre is a home to many recovering eagles, bears, owls and more. This centre helps wounded or unhealthy animals heal before releasing them back in the wild. Get up close and personal with BC’s wildlife only a 25 minute drive from Nanaimo.

Historical Journey -

Travel through time at Nanaimo Museum where you might find yourself sitting on a cedar bench listening to stories read by elders from the Snuneymuxw First Nations dating back over 2000 years ago. Imagine yourself below surface in a dark tunnel; imagine what our miners might have felt while you walk through a replica coal mine. Visit the traveling exhibit and be sure to check out the Hudson Bay Fort, the Bastion at noon throughout the summer for a real live cannon firing!
