Parks, Recreation and Culture's mission is to “enhance the quality of life and leisure in Nanaimo.” The department operates 2 indoor pools, including British Columbia’s largest wave pool at Nanaimo Aquatic Centre, 4 ice surfaces, 3 community centres and is home to 1200 hectares of beautiful parkland, 63 kilometres of trails that intricately connect the City and 63 playgrounds for children of all ages to enjoy!
