Join us in the fun and festivities at 7th Annual Save-On-Foods Nanaimo Dragon Boat Festival July 10-12, 2009 on the beautiful waterfront in downtown Nanaimo, “The Harbour City”. Nanaimo, has “one of the most beautiful waterfronts in Canada”, and is a premiere tourist destination. Last year’s, event was capped at 80 teams because of the race course design. This year the master officials at Go Row have re-designed the course allowing for 12 more teams – Very Exciting News. The Nanaimo Dragon Boat Festival Society is unique as it donates 100% of the net proceeds to the Nanaimo Hospital Foundation to assist in improving the diagnostic-treatment process for breast cancer patients. $80,000 was donated to the Nanaimo General Hospital Foundation last year totally $250,000 since the beginning of the Festival.
